IT IS FINISHED: Brenda Yalezo Gears Up for New Work
Bloemfontein-based gospel artist and composer, Brenda Yalezo, is set to host her second live album recording on 28 September 2024 at the Bloemfontein Civic Theatre. Titled It Is Finished, the project’s band consists of four musically intelligent instrumentalists who will also be the album’s joint producers, promising a high-standard recording and thrilling show.
The album will be recorded and released under Plug-in Productions, a one-stop shop for all production and engineering services.
True to Yalezo’s ministry and creativity, the show will also see her share her freshest compositions that are aimed at stirring up revival and showcasing the beauty of her lyricism. To ensure an experience of unmatched impact, she has also invited music minsters such as Keneiloe Hope of Gospel Goes Classic fame, Nomqibelo Lenong, Mosa, Abigail Sehloho as well as Lebo Matumba.
Three years ago, Yalezo filled the Bloemfontein Civic Theatre to capacity for the live recording of her debut album, From the Heart to the Throne, which comprised the hit song, Lerumo.
The album was preceded by songs such as Yehla Moya (2020) and Sidumis’igama Lakho (2022). In the period between her debut album and the new work, she released a four-track EP named Amaculo, which is a contemporary reimagination of some classic hymns.
“John 19:30 tell us that when Jesus hanged on the Cross, He cried out, ‘IT IS FINISHED!’ In doing this, He was declaring your debt of sin is fully paid. The judgement of your sin has been fully served and the spiritual war against death, sin and Satan has been completely won. In Christ the work of Salvation, reconciliation and new life is fully yours,” says Yalezo, whose career milestones include Dinaledi Gospel Festival, Macufe Gospel as well as provincial tour of her first album, among others.
“Audiences can expect new music that is scriptural and Christ-centred. It’s going to be a moment of fellowship, worship and restoration, as believers come together to thank the Lord for loving us so much that He paid the price for our transgressions,” she continues.
The live recording will start at 16h00 and tickets go for only R200, available on Webtickets or alternatively by contacting 060 766 1088 or 076 029 1106.
